About AiToolRadar
Hi, I'm Ray Radar — a developer and AI tools enthusiast who got tired of clicking through dozens of "best AI tools" lists that all said the same thing, usually written by people who had never opened the product.
AiToolRadar is my answer to that. An independently run directory where every review comes from actual usage — not a press release, not a product pitch, not affiliate-first content.
Why I built this
In 2023 I started seriously integrating AI tools into my daily workflow — coding, writing, brainstorming, generating images. The landscape was exploding and navigating it was exhausting. I kept a personal spreadsheet of tools I'd tested, with notes on what each was actually good at and where it fell short.
At some point that spreadsheet became this site. I figured if it was useful to me, it might be useful to others trying to make the same decisions without wasting hours on trials and dead ends.
What I cover
30+ AI tools across six categories: writing, coding, image generation, video, audio, and productivity. From ChatGPT and Claude to Midjourney, Cursor, ElevenLabs, Notion AI, and more. The goal isn't to cover everything — it's to cover what's actually worth your time.
How I review tools
Every tool in the directory has been personally tested. My reviews focus on three questions:
- When should you use this? What is it genuinely best at?
- When should you avoid it? What are the real limitations?
- Is it worth paying for? Honest take on pricing and value.
I also include personal tips — the things I wish someone had told me before I spent time figuring them out myself.
I don't accept payment for reviews or guaranteed placements. If a tool is listed here, it's because I think it deserves to be.
Keeping it updated
The AI tools landscape moves fast — pricing changes overnight, features get added or removed, and new tools appear every week. I review and update listings whenever something significant changes. If you spot something outdated, let me know.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site may be affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you sign up for a paid plan. This doesn't affect my editorial independence — I only list tools I'd recommend regardless of whether an affiliate program exists.
